I recently had a service call from Fox Pest Control for an earwig problem at my home. I was surprised and disturbed to see that glue-board traps were used as part of the pest treatment. Seeing a living creature stuck to one of these boards while still alive is unsettling and inhumane. There are more compassionate methods to manage pests. For instance, catch-and-release traps for mice would allow for relocation, and old-fashioned snap traps provide a quicker, more humane death. Had I known that Fox Pest Control used such inhumane devices, I would never have signed up for their service. I consider it deceptive not to disclose this practice to new customers. When I expressed my concerns, the service manager mentioned they would avoid using glue boards if requested, indicating they recognize the controversy surrounding their use. I decided to cancel my contract, but was hit with a $250 cancellation fee, which I happily paid to terminate the service. During the cancellation process, I asked two phone agents about the use of glue traps. Both expressed no issues with this practice, and one even remarked that a mouse’s life is less significant than a dogs. Her comment about valuing lives differently was particularly troubling. While I understand the need to manage pests, I refuse to support a company that employs such inhumane practices. My hope is that those that are employed at Fox Pest Control reflect on their ethics and consider the impact of their methods. To potential customers: if humane treatment of animals matters to you, be cautious. If you’re indifferent to such practices, it might be worth considering how this aligns with your values.

Had a large hornets nest on back patio under the eaves. Prompt service. My only complaint is that after removal of the nest, there are still remnants that could have been removed. Otherwise, very good.
